The Future Was Deco by Ladonite The Future Was Deco by Ladonite
We all know it's true.

I've recently discovered my decent vector abilities, so I'm going to keep pumping out some nice looking deco related art over the next week or so. One every few days, and I'll see what I end up with.

This picture looks awesome as a thumbnail. Not too shabby as a desktop either.

This is very similar to the opening credits of the Hucule Poirot series which began in the 1980s. David Suche was the actor in this excellent series. I have been inspired to design many items based on Art Deco from this series. They really captured a lot of the feel and application of Art Deco. Well worth viewing just for the inspiration and ideas.

Ahh.... So nostalgic. So many memories. Deco defined the 20th century. Man, what an era. Kid's these days just don't know what they've missed.

I saw this one quite a while back before I joined DA. It really captures the style beautifully. Nice stuff. :-)

The font's not really my own, but I worked it a bit... not sure if I modified it enough to claim it :)

Also don't remember what it was called or where it came from... I'm a terrible person.

Art Deco, glorious Art Deco... only one of the reasons I believe the 1930's was the greatest time to be an American. Nice stylization on the train; looks kind of like a Mercury by Henry Dreyfuss, or maybe a Commodore Vanderbilt (my two favorite locomotives!).

Yes, just like now is. But there is a significant difference between these two periods of time. Back then, people had hope, and looked to the future. Nowadays we look back, and look at the present, and just look back again, wishing time had not passed us by. There is no hope in our modern society.

Great job capturing the Art Deco style! I also like that you've included the future reference, since progress (and thus, a brighter future) really was at the heart of the Deco ideal.
